What We Believe
Discover the core beliefs that shape our life together as United Methodists.
God
We believe in one loving, sovereign God who created all things and invites us into a relationship of grace.
The Trinity
We understand God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus is fully human and fully divine.
He lived among us, died on the cross, rose from the dead, and offers forgiveness, new life, and the example for how we are called to live.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God with us — comforting, guiding, convicting, and empowering us to follow God’s will.
Human Beings
We believe all people are created in God’s image and invited into a life‑giving relationship with God.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is God’s Word and our primary guide for faith and practice, encompassing both the Old and New Testaments.
The Church
We believe the church is the body of Christ, called to:
-
Make disciples of Jesus Christ
-
Worship God
-
Grow in faith
-
Live as a community of believers across generations
Sacraments
- Baptism
-
A sign of new life and God’s grace, open to people of all ages.
-
We baptize by sprinkling, pouring, or immersion.
- Holy Communion
-
A sacred meal remembering Christ’s life, death, and resurrection.
-
We practice open Communion, welcoming all who seek to follow Christ.
The Reign of God
We believe God’s kingdom is both present and still unfolding. Wherever there is healing, reconciliation, and restoration, God’s reign is at work. The church is called to witness to this vision and participate in God’s transforming work — in our hearts and throughout all creation.
